Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke is an autistic visual artist whose bold, vibrant creations aren’t just beautiful—they defy expectations. He uses color and pattern to communicate deeply and joyfully in ways words cannot, and his focus, energy, and imagination have earned him global praise.
Most notably, at age 15 he set the Guinness World Record for the largest single-piece painting—an incredible 12,303.87 m² canvas, unveiled on World Autism Acceptance Day in Abuja. Dubbed “Impossibility is a Myth,” it featured a glowing infinity ribbon surrounded by expressive emojis, symbolizing awareness, acceptance, and the human spectrum
About Kanyeyachukwu
Kanyeyachukwu began drawing as early as age 2—scribbles on walls revealed a creative spark that none could ignore. Diagnosed with autism around age 3 or 4, his parents welcomed painting as a means of expression. By age 5, he was working in abstract forms on canvas. His art teacher in Abuja recognized his gifts immediately as “genius.” At 8 years old, Kanyeyachukwu became the youngest recipient of Austria’s Flame of Peace Award, a testament to the emotional and artistic depth in his work. In November 2024, he painted “Impossibility is a Myth,” breaking the world record. Nigeria’s Minister of Culture declared it “a beacon of hope and inspiration,” and President Tinubu called Kanyeyachukwu “brave, audacious, and tenacious”.
